Journal of Communication Technology and Business (JCTB)
Journal of Communication Technology and Business continues its goal of trying to publish quality articles submitted for consideration. We continue to underscore our commitment to intellectual engagement and academic discourse and intend to ensure and maintain continuity in our interrogation of issues relating to Africa's Technological advancement, Communication and Business.
We are excited by the challenge of serving you and are gratified by the increasing level of interest in the journal. We feel it is critical that the journal continues to remain truly interdisciplinary, though not every article submitted need to be interdisciplinary in orientation. We are mindful though that most of our volumes may be dominated by papers from technology, communication, and business experts.

A submitted manuscript is a confidential material. Academic Journals will not disclose submitted manuscript to anyone except individuals who partake in the processing and preparation of the manuscript for publication (if accepted). These individuals include editorial staff, corresponding authors, potential reviewers, actual reviewers, and editors.
However, in suspected cases of misconduct, a manuscript may be revealed to members of the ethics committee and institutions/organizations that may require it for the resolution of the misconduct.

Authors retain copyright of the published papers and grant to the publisher the non-exclusive right to publish the article, to be cited as its original publisher in case of reuse, and to distribute it in all forms and media.
Licensing
The published articles will be distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY). It is allowed to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format, and remix, transform, and build upon it for any purpose, even commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the license is provided and it is indicated if changes were made.

Read full policy →Corrections may be made to a published article with the authorization of the Managing and Chief Editor of JCTB. Editors will decide the magnitude of the corrections. Minor corrections are made directly to the original article. However, in cases of major corrections, the original article will remain unchanged, while the corrected version will also be published.
Both the original and corrected version will be linked to each other. A statement indicating the reason for the major change to the article will also be published.
Read full policy →Plagiarism is the unethical act of copying someone else's prior ideas, processes, results or words without explicit acknowledgement of the original author and source.
Self-plagiarism occurs when an author utilizes large part of his/her own previously published work without using appropriate references. The journal is strictly against any unethical act of copying or plagiarism in any form. All manuscripts submitted for publication to JCTB are cross-checked for plagiarism using Turnitin software.
Manuscripts found to be plagiarized during initial stages of review are out-rightly rejected and not considered for publication in the journal.

JCTB is published under an Open Access license. All its content is available free of charge. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, and search the full text of articles without having to seek the consent of the author or publisher.

Full bibliographic information about the original publication must be provided and links must be made to the article's DOI and the license.
Read full policy →Anyone may inform the Editor-in-Chief / Editorial Board at any time of suspected unethical behaviour or any type of misconduct by giving the necessary credible information/evidence to start an investigation.
Minor misconduct will be dealt with directly with authors and reviewers without involving any other parties. In the case of major misconduct, the Editorial Board may adopt different measures, including a formal announcement, informing the author's affiliating institution, or the formal retraction of publications. When dealing with unethical behaviour, the Editorial Board relies on the guidelines and recommendations provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Any other activities that threaten/compromise the integrity of the research/publication process are potential misconducts. Suspected cases of misconduct will be investigated according to JCTB guidelines.
Read full policy →“Conflict of interest (COI) exists when there is a divergence between an individual's private interests (competing interests) and his or her responsibilities to publishing activities such that a reasonable observer might wonder if the individual's behavior or judgment was motivated by considerations of his or her competing interests”.
Authors should disclose all financial/relevant interest that may have influenced the development of the manuscript. Reviewers should disclose any conflict of interest and, if necessary, decline the review of any manuscript they perceive to have a conflict of interest.
